Your Board does act on your behalf on several fronts. Besides providing for the protection and maintenance of common properties and enforcing the covenants, restrictions, and conditions set forth by the "bylaws", a board member also attends  all Union City Council meetings, and is willing to serve as an advocate for specific homeowner's needs in relations to the integrity of the subdivision! You could say the board is here to "serve and protect"!
